Eloise joined VCE as a seasonal biologist to work on the Common Loon Conservation Project in 2021. Originally from Quebec, Eloise has lived in Craftsbury since 2014 with her daughter Beatrice.
After completing a technical degree in applied ecology in 2005, Eloise worked with organizations such as Ducks Unlimited, Canadian Wildlife Service, and various Universities across Canada, all the way up to the Canadian Arctic, to study shorebirds population.
She also took part in different community-based projects in environment/ecology in Canada and the U.S. and overseas in Mali, South Africa, and Indonesia. In several projects, she has worked in close collaboration with vulnerable/low-income groups such as women, special needs, new immigrants, and youth.
Eloise has long been interested in the relationship between humans and ecology and how to help people develop a sense of engagement with their environment. During the fall and winter months, she works at a therapeutic farm with special needs adults.
