When you give to VCE, you give to wildlife. Your contribution helps VCE succeed with our innovative blend of conservation science and citizen engagement.
With your support, VCE continues to do the research, train the volunteers, and produce the results that generate sound policies on wildlife conservation. Discover below some of the ways you can join the community of donors who help VCE unite people and science for conservation.
The Vermont Center for Ecostudies is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) and all donations are tax-deductible.
Your Nest Egg: A Special Giving Opportunity
Many people are unaware of a special provision in the tax law, previously subject to congressional approval annually, but made permanent in 2016.
If you are over 70, you can donate your required minimum distribution from your IRA to charity and save money on your taxes, too.
Generally, retirement distributions increase your taxable income. If you’d like to direct some or all of this distribution to a charity like VCE, you can now do so directly, without any impact to your taxable income! You can give up to $100,000 per year in this way.
The key is to have the check go directly to the charity from your retirement fund, bypassing you entirely. If you’d like more information about making such a transfer, please contact VCE Associate Director Susan Hindinger at (802) 649-1431 x 203 or gro.s1544635104eidut1544635104socet1544635104v@reg1544635104nidni1544635104hs1544635104.
