Brian joined VCE in 2024, after earning his Ph.D. from Bowling Green State University, following his M.S. from Saint Joseph’s University in 2019 and B.S. in conservation and wildlife management from Delaware Valley University in 2017. While at VCE, he works on modeling the distributions of native species across Vermont to inform biodiversity conservation efforts.
Brian is a conservation ecologist interested in human impacts on ecosystems and wildlife, including land use change, climate change, and illegal collection. He is also interested in the policy, sociological research and relationships needed to ensure successful conservation. He has a love for all wildlife, but a special affinity for amphibians and reptiles.
Outside of VCE, Brian enjoys hiking in his new home state, reading, playing guitar, and watching movies.
