Franni’s appreciation for nature began in her childhood, which she spent in the hills of West Newbury, on a 40-acre sugarbush. This passion led her to pursue a B.S. in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism, as well as, an M.S. in Natural Resources, from the University of Vermont. She is particularly interested in understanding how humans connect with nature in their leisure time, and how said connection can drive action in conservation efforts. In her own free time, she is partial to running, backpacking, and skiing.
