Bob grew up in New Jersey and graduated from Lafayette College with a B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering, starting his career in the steel and foundry industries. After obtaining his MBA from the University of Virginia, he spent 30 years in private equity, the last 20 with Advent International.
Newcomers to the Northeast Kingdom, Bob and his wife Sandra have been married for 28 years. They and their three adult children Zach, Nicole, and Alex love nature and spending time in Vermont. They were first introduced to VCE on Mt. Mansfield in 2018, where Sandra experienced the joy of holding a beautiful Bicknell’s Thrush.
After retiring at the end of 2017, Bob started working with several environmental groups on climate communication strategies linked to jobs and the economy. He and Sandra participated in Harvard’s ALI program in 2019, a program designed for retirees interested in becoming active with non-profit organizations. They are both very interested in being involved with organizations that have a long-term vision coupled with durable strategies and tactics to protect our natural world.
