Laura is a botanist, naturalist, and community science enthusiast. She joined VCE this summer as a Seasonal Technician, working with Desirée Narango on Adopt a Plant and other projects. Laura recently received her M.S. in the Field Naturalist program at the University of Vermont. She first became involved with VCE as a student, completing her master’s project studying insect visitors to native orchids.
Laura’s first career was in computer engineering and software development, but her life path took a sharp turn when she encountered her first wild orchid. In the future, she hopes to unite the two paths and work on software for conservation science. When not outside, Laura loves social dance, beachcombing, and making fancy treats.
