Lisa Ransom

Director of Development

Born in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, Lisa found her home among the softer Green Mountains of New England, where her lifelong connection to the natural world has shaped both her life and her work. She believes that moments of awe in nature help us understand our place in it—and inspire meaningful care for it in return.

Lisa brings more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and community building. Before joining VCE, she served as Executive Director of Mission Farm in Killington, Vermont, where she helped integrate land stewardship, agriculture, and community renewal. She also co-founded Grow Compost of Vermont, a company dedicated to transforming food scraps into healthy, living soil.

A graduate of Yale Divinity School and an ordained Episcopal priest, Lisa has spent much of her career helping people connect their values to meaningful action. She believes lasting change begins with relationships—with one another, with place, and with the living world.

Outside of work, Lisa enjoys exploring the outdoors with her husband and their two dogs, along with fiber arts, gardening with native plants, and cooking for her family.
