Eloise Girard

Loon Biologist

Eloise joined VCE as a seasonal biologist to work on the Common Loon Conservation Project in 2021.

After completing a technical degree in applied ecology in 2005, Eloise worked with organizations such as Ducks Unlimited, Canadian Wildlife Service, and various Universities across Canada, all the way up to the Canadian Arctic to study shorebirds population.

She also took part in different community-based projects in environment and ecology in Canada, the U.S., and overseas in Mali, South Africa, and Indonesia. In several projects, she has worked in close collaboration with vulnerable and low-income groups such as women, special needs, new immigrants, and youth.

Originally from Quebec, Eloise has lived in Craftsbury, Vermont since 2014 with her daughter Beatrice. During the fall and winter months, she works at a therapeutic farm with adults with special needs.
