Natalie DeVito is a rising sophomore at Brown University in Rhode Island, where she is studying natural and physical sciences. She is from just outside New Brunswick, New Jersey and can usually be found cruising the sand roads of the New Jersey Pine Barrens looking for pine snakes. While at college in New England, she has broadened her natural history and ecology knowledge through coursework, on field trips to the cliffs of Newport, camping in Acadia National Park, and spotting red-tailed hawks along I-95! She is so grateful for the opportunity to join VCE this summer as a Species Interaction Intern, helping with Mansfield bird banding and ground arthropod sampling around Vermont. She is especially excited to be taking part in research which will help us track climate change’s impact on biodiversity in the Northeast. She is looking forward to spending the summer living and exploring in the Upper Valley and hopefully seeing a moose.
