Betsy joined The Trust for Public Land (TPL) in 2006 as the Campaign Director for the New England Region. She currently serves as TPL’s Senior Director of Philanthropy for northern New England. Betsy is trained as a forest ecologist and major gift officer and has worked for over 16 years in the conservation sector. Previously, Betsy served as a program director for The Nature Conservancy in the Asia-Pacific region, a project manager for The World Bank in the former Soviet Union, and as a community forest specialist for four years in India with the Ford Foundation. Betsy is a graduate of Williams College and the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. She was raised in Norwich Vermont, and resides in Hanover, NH with her two children, Caitlin (15) and William (12). In her free time, Betsy enjoys figure skating, skiing, playing tennis, gardening, and cheering on her children on ski slopes and soccer fields.
